Checklist

What you need for 4K IPTV

  • A 4K TV

Any 4K (UHD) television. HDR10 or Dolby Vision makes bright scenes look even better.

  • A 4K streaming device

Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max, Apple TV 4K, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV 4K or a 4K MAG box.

  • About 25 Mbps per 4K screen

Measured on the TV itself, not on your phone next to the router. More is better for busy households.

  • A stable connection

Ethernet is ideal. On Wi-Fi, use the 5 GHz band and keep the router in the same room if you can.

Quality

4K vs Full HD vs HD: what's the difference?

4K (Ultra HD) has four times as many pixels as Full HD. On a TV of 55 inches or more you see it in fine detail: grass on a football field, faces in a crowd, text on a scoreboard. It needs the most bandwidth.

Full HD (1080p) is the standard for most live channels. It looks great on most TVs and needs about 10 Mbps.

HD (720p) uses the least data. Player apps switch to it automatically when your connection slows down, so the picture keeps moving instead of freezing.

Where to find it

Watching 4K on your device

In most player apps, 4K live channels are grouped in their own category, and the movie library has a 4K collection. If you don't see them, refresh the playlist in the app settings or ask support which category to open.

  • Fire TV Stick 4K / 4K Max: turn on Match Original Frame Rate in display settings.
  • Apple TV 4K: set Match Content to Dynamic Range and Frame Rate.
  • Android TV / Google TV: set the display to 4K and allow HDR in the player.

FAQ

4K IPTV questions

Is every channel in 4K?

No. 4K is available on selected live channels and on a large part of the movie and series library. Most live channels stream in Full HD or HD, which still looks sharp on a 4K TV.

Do I pay extra for 4K?

No. 4K is included on every My IPTV Sub plan at no extra cost, from $13/month.

Why does my 4K channel look blurry?

Usually the connection is too slow, so the app drops to a lower quality, or the device only supports Full HD. Test your speed on the TV, use Ethernet if possible and make sure you are using a 4K-capable device.

Can I watch 4K on my phone?

Phones play the 4K streams, but the small screen shows little difference compared with Full HD and uses much more data. 4K is best enjoyed on a TV.
